Email Management Tips

Email can be one of the most disruptive forms of communication.  Left unmanaged it can eat into your day, it can distract you from active tasks.

There are a number of ways to “tame” your  email;

  1. Unsubscribe from any newsletters you receive and generally ignore and delete. Cut the amount of spam or unwanted emails coming into your inbox.
  2. Aim to empty your inbox daily.  Use folders and archives to save anything you need.
  3. Schedule time for email at the beginning of the day, after lunch and before you leave.
  4. Use autoresponders to let your clients know when email is not being monitored.
  5. Use two folders to prioritise workloads; Within 24hr & Within 48hr.  This way you can schedule time to deal with them.
  6. Delegate anything else to a PA or VA.

If you use Outlook there are a number of handy tools, such as rules or flags that can also help.

If you would like any assistance with email, I can remotely manage email or I can provide One to One training on Email Management Tips.
