A personal post.
I don’t usually post personal blogs, usually most people can find out about me via Facebook or Twitter. Today is different.
As many of you may know, my beautiful stepdaughter recently passed away after a long and courageous fight against leukaemia. Today, we get to say our final goodbye to her; so no business related blog.
I just want to pass on my thanks to my wonderful clients and associate VAs. During the last two months, we have received an amazing amount of support, making sure that we (my family) are looked after and loved. I could never repay the love we’ve been shown, but need to pass on my gratitude. From having my ‘phones answered, any client work covered, fund-raising for the charity supporting us, driving halfway up the country to give hugs; you name it, we’ve been on the receiving end.
We are aiming to raise money for Clic-Sargent, who have supported us immensely during the last five years. They help families like ours by providing help with expenses, days out for children with cancer and their families, they have counsellors supporting the families and also provide holiday homes for getaways. Without them life would have been very much harder. A VA colleague of mine set up this Justgiving page, if you are able to spare a few pounds then it is very much appreciated.
My stepdaughter had a bone marrow transplant two years ago and we would also urge people to sign up to be a bone marrow donor with Anthony Nolan Trust. It’s a simple procedure and you could gift someone the greatest gift of all – life. Due to the generosity of one donor we were gifted with two extra years having our precious daughter in our lives.
Her smile lit up a room and her bravery and tenacity in fighting this disease touched a lot of people. She will leave a big hole in our hearts and will be missed daily.
So today … wear bright clothes, paint your nails pink ( if you have seen our pics you’ll know why) but above all wear and share your biggest smile. Carrie was never without her smile, through the brightest of days and the darkest of hours, her smile was always in place. Your smile will be one of the biggest tributes you could give us and importantly … her.

Not with you physically but thinking of you all. You’re an amazing family. xxx
I’m sorry to hear about Carrie…
Our daughter passed away a year ago this week. If you need someone to talk to about anything at all feel free to get in touch via twitter or the website link I have added.
We found that it helped to talk to others that knew what we were going through.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time,
Karl
